It is a peninsula of 12 atolls, 3 reefs, and 5 submerged banks, with a total of about 36 islands and islets. It is one of the most beautiful island in India spread over 34 square kilometers rich in marine life. The island is decorated by coral reeds, sandy beaches and calm surrounding. The lagoon offers enthusiastic water sports like swimming, wind-surfing, diving, snorkeling and kayaking. Agatti, Kadmat, Minicoy and Kavaratti are its most important islands that witness a large number of tourists every year. Kavaratti is the administrative capital of Lakshadweep Island.Lakshadweep is among the must visit islands of India.

The Andaman and Nicobar Are a group of some 572 islands, islets and atolls. The blue sea, dense forest, exotic flowers and birds and the breathtakingly beautiful coral reefs will make you fall in love with this island. The capital city of these islands is Port Blair. The Nicobar Islands are inhabited by the backward communities and primitive tribes. The people in the islands speak a number of languages. The ideal time to visit this island is from December to March. Famous among honeymooners and couples, Andaman Islands are the best islands in India.

Munroe Island Is located at the confluence of Ashtamudi Lake And the Kallada River, in Kollam district of Kerala. It comprises of a group of eight minor islands. It is a wonderful tourism destination in Kerala. Here you get the opportunity of looking at the coir retting process, coir weaving, fishing, prawns feeding, migratory bird watch, narrow canals and waterways, coconut farms on the lake shore, lagoons,mangrove plants and the beautiful tiny islands of Pothupara.

Also known as Pamban Island, Rameswaram Island. It is a major pilgrimage site and is located between peninsular India and Sri Lanka. Most of Pamban Island lies below sea-level. However, there are a few mondin the vicinity of Rameshwaram of which Mt.Gandhamadana is the tallest.Coconut, palm trees, fig eucalyptus plants are found in abundance on this island.

Elephanta Island Also called Gharapuri Island Place of cavesorPory Island is located in Mumbai Harbour, east of Mumbai,India. The cave temples, the Elephanta Caves that have been carved out of rock are the major attractions of this place. One can take a ferry from Mumbai to reach the island. This island was once the capital of a powerful local kingdom.

Majuli Island is a large river island in the Brahmaputra River, Assam, India. It is the largest river island in the world. The island has a number of attractions like the most important being the view of the mighty Brahmaputra River. The island is a paradise for bird watchers. The southeast of the island, southwest of the island and the northern part of island are the perfect spot for bird watching. The best time to visit is between November to March.

Srirangam Island is a river island situated within the city of Tiruchirappalli Tamil Nadu,India The island is 19 miles in length and 1.5 miles wide and is bounded by the Upper Anaicut To the west and the Grand Anaicut To the east. It is even an important Hindu Vaishnavite Pilgrimage centre. Most of the island forms part of the Srirangam zone of the Tiruchirappalli Municipal Corporation and includes the suburbs of Srirangam,Thiruvanaikaval,Srinivasa Nagar And Geetapuram.

This is the largest artificial man-made island in India. Willingdon Island is located in Cochin, Kerala. It is significant as the home for the Port of Kochi, as well as the Kochi Naval Base of the Indian Navy And Central Institute of Fisheries Technology. The Island is connected to Kochi’s mainland by road and the railway Venduruthy Bridge.
