Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary is home to 34 species of Mammals including many Panthers and Spotted deer, 50 to 60 Indian Elephants, Tigers, Gaur, Sambar Deer, Bonnet Macaque, Common langur, Hanuman monkey, Nilgiri Tahr, Rusty-spotted Cats and about 240 of the only vulnerable Grizzled Giant Squirrels.

Twenty six species of mammals and an extensive area of grasslands, shrub lands and forest can be found here. Muniyara Dolmens are famous archeological sites in Muniyara. These are Neolithic burial chambers and are surrounded by greenery and mountains. These dolmens are made of made of four stones placed on edges and covered by a fifth one called the cap stone.
