We had a great experience being at Monterey town. This walking / bike trail of Monterey is great! You can walk and ride it from Marina to Pacific Grove the area mostly taloized is from the Monterey Beaches and both Wharf’s Past Old Cannery Row attractions to the “Lovers Point” beach in Pacific Grove. It is less than a mile and totally delightful. At the Monterey Bay area be sure to have a car and make the 17 mile drive through Pebble Beach where you’ll find world famous golf courses, mansions and scenic attractions. We really enjoyed the quietness of this beautiful bay. It was a beautiful spot to sit and watch the sun set. I would suggest the place for couples.
