Tour begins: 6:00 PM, Sheraton Stockholm Hotel. Upon arrival of your flight, a transfer is included from Stockholm Arlanda Airport to Sheraton Stockholm Hotel. Sweden’s historic capital is set on 14 islands laced with canals and waterways; your hotel is located in the heart of downtown, next to Old Town. Day 2. DISCOVER STOCKHOLM / VASA MUSEUM
Urban cool, naturally beautiful and steeped in cutting-edge design, Stockholm also boasts a medieval heritage of cobbled streets, centuries-old red-brick squares and marine treasures. Learn more about this fascinating city of old and new on a sightseeing excursion that includes a guided visit to City Hall, built in the National Romantic style and boasting gilded mosaics on its interior walls. Continue on to the Vasa Museum, home to the Vasa warship. Raised after 333 years at the bottom of Stockholm harbor, it is the only 17th-century warship in the world that is completely intact. View objects that were salvaged from the sea bed, including tools, coins and everyday utensils. The remainder of the day is free to enjoy the city. Day 3. JOURNEY TO TOFTAHOLM
Travel to southern Sweden today, where landscapes of farmland and forests embrace magnificent lakes. Stop for lunch in the Lake Vattern area, home to painted churches, cathedrals and castles that date back hundreds of years. Day 4. CROSSING TO Copenhagen
Breathtaking scenery makes your drive to Sweden’s southerly coast for our crossing into Denmark most enjoyable today. En route, stop for lunch and a visit to Sofiero Slott, just outside of the harborside city of Helsingborg. This majestic 1865 palace, used by King Gustaf VI Adolf as his summer palace until his death in 1973, is revered for its gardens and grounds. The new Oresund Bridge / Tunnel connects Sweden to Denmark in the city of Malmo; cross it this afternoon as you travel to Copenhagen for a two-night stay. Day 5. THE MANY CHARMS OF COPENHAGEN
Get to know Denmark’s capital on a guided city tour that includes a visit to the 17th-century Renaissance-style Rosenborg Palace and an opportunity to see the Danish crown jewels. The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy as you wish. You might want to explore Nyhavn to see the colorful schooners that line the quay and stroll along the pedestrian shopping street, Stroget. Tauck includes a ticket for you to visit the famous Tivoli Gardens at your leisure tonight. We’re Norway bound today so pack an overnight bag for your memorable ferry cruise to Oslo tonight! Set out after breakfast for Frederiksborg Castle, the largest Renaissance palace in Scandinavia. A look inside with our local guide includes the royal art gallery. Follow Tauck’s Yellow Roads through North Sealand to a rustic inn for lunch and a typical taste of freshly prepared country fare. Return to Copenhagen along the Danish Riviera and visit the Museum of Danish Resistance before boarding a ship for Norway — stay in Commodore cabins. Meals BLD
